Hi Can anyone please help me in how to forward my voip number to my mobile number. I also have a question - I have a USA number for which I have a IP Phone Adapter provided by the number provider. Can I route my UK number to that adapter? |

You have not given sufficient information about your USA number provider and the phone adapter that you have to answer your question with any certainty. There are ways to forward from voip to mobiles but most of the time it will cost you money. I the mobile can accept SIP calls you could consider using that method SIP -> cell sip client. |

I also dont know how can I test my number...
As I inderstand, I was given a number like: 0844XXXXXXX
So I understand that I have to forward it to my countries landline number witch would be my "country code" + the above number, right? Something like: +351 253XXXXXX
Now I would like to test the UK number to see if it ring my landline number in Portugal. So from Portugal I would need to call: +44 844XXXXXXX
Is this right? If so, its not working!
Please help! |

That seems correct. You have you activate your SIP account. You seem to have no number listed. |

I checked the Packet8 web pages and it does not look like the ATA that they supply is intended to do the forwarding. However, they do offer call forwarding as a service under "Residential Voip Services" |

Humm. Is there any restriction for calling this UK number from other numbers abroad? Does this only work when called from other UK numbers? |

The numbers were originally intended for use from within the UK. There is no real reason why they should not be callable from outside but it depends on the local carrier choosing to service the numbers and if they do they charge very high rates. The 0870 and 0844 numbers are the ones that can be called from lots of places (but not from where I am). If you are not in the UK then it is best to use a commercial SIP provider for your outgoing calls. You can still use Voipuser for SIP to SIP and iNUM calls. |

There is a SIP number that you normally get when you register your account... you have not got one.
By the way, it is probably not a good idea to use an exclamation mark (bang) in your user name. |

No need to do anything now but I thought I should mention it for future reference. If it works it is OK.
Can you go back to your SIP account set up and see if you can turn it on or read your 0844 number from there.
I have sent you a pm |

OK, I created the SIP account.
I assume I need to activate some SIP cliente software to receive the PM, right? May X-lite? Or will the PM go directly to my email? |

It should show as a new message at the top of this page or say "You have no new messages" If it says you have a message then click on it.....just normal web page.
I can now see your number OK. Can't call it though. |
