VoIP User Termination Help

The VoIP User Control Panel offers presets for termination to two distinct destinations with an option for each of a SIP phone, IAX exchange or PSTN phone number.

The destination and termination options can be individually set for each phone number you have requested.

Termination Options

This is divided into three seperate columns and organised by time of day. Once you have set your two destination options, you can set here the termination priority for each time zone. Time zones are calculated (at the moment) in GMT.

Example settings:-

In this example "Primary Termination" is set to terminate the phone number being administered to the Destination 1 location (see below) during the day (7am - 6pm). In the evening (6pm to 7am) the number is switched to terminate to Destination 2. During the weekends (Friday 6pm - 7am Monday) the termination is to Destination 2 first, then Destination 1 location with the voicemail option as a final resort.

Primary Termination switches to Secondary Termination after a phone has been ringing for 20 seconds, and then onto voicemail, if selected, 20 seconds thereafter.

In practice what will happen is, during the day, anyone phoning this number will be routed to Destination 1 (set below). If that is not answered, voicemail will take the call.

During the evening, the Destination 1 phone will ring for up to 20 seconds then divert to Destination 2.

At weekends, only the Destination 1 phone will ring for 20 seconds, if not answered the call will be re-forwarded to the Destination 2 phone which will ring for a further 20 seconds before finally terminating to voicemail.

If Primary Termination is set to a SIP URI, and that SIP URI is for any reason unreachable, the Secondary Termination will be used instead.

If the Secondary Termination is a SIP URI and unreachable, and the voicemail option is selected, then the caller will be diverted to voicemail.

Available termination options are:-

Destination 1
<User Preconfigured - SIP, PSTN or IAX>
Destination 2
<User Preconfigured - SIP, PSTN or IAX>
None
<Termination ends at this point>

Destination Options

This is where each of the Destination One and Destination Two options referred to in the above panel are set.

Each destination has three options - SIP, AIX or PSTN termination. Pick an option using the radio button and enter either a SIP URI, IAX URI or PSTN landline number accordingly.

Example Settings:-

Here Destination One has been set to a SIP URI for a SIP phone, with Destination Two going to a PSTN landline in the UK.

Clicking either of the two update buttons will update any settings you have changed in the control panel.
