Good morning(or afternoon)
I'm still having problems dialing out. when I call out to the US I get Forbidden. I have tried resetting the password, checked all the settings are correct, and tried it through 3CX, and Xlite with bothe giving me the same message.
can someone help? I tried pretty much everything I have read in the forums but to no avail.
I did a log in Eyebeam and this is what I get when I make the call.

Welcome to Voipuser forums.

Voipuser has been having problems recently. I hope it is soon back to normal. You can check the current status here:
http://www.voipuser.org/forum_topic_15713.html.

Perhaps you would like to get an account with another provider that offers free accounts that can be used for testing (eg. I know that Voxalot and Gizmo both work with X-Lite)

Hi,
thanks for the quick response.
I do have an sip account with tpad that links to IPKall so I get incoming call from PSTN to my sip without paying but I was looking trying to make outgoing calls without having to pay (well I do pay a donation but that does not count in this bet)
See I have a bet with a friend that I can create a phone system that I could receive AND make calls free (donating money does not count as paying) I have a week to go and I hope I can win this bet.

Anyways, I did read that post but I tought since that it was posted in mid-april it might have been fixed by now, no worries, I will wait. By the way how do I dial that number? is it 001305610****? or do I have to put any other prefix?

There are several funded by advertising voip providers that allow "free" outgoing calls. Your incoming call that passes through IPKall is, of course, paid for by your caller (directly or indirectly). There are also SipBroker numbers in most areas that can be called for the cost of the local call (free in US & Canada) that will allow you to connect to a voip provider.

Yup, that's fine Smile

When you make an outgoing call from SIP to PSTN it is that last bit that uses the traditional phone Co. wires that costs money and it is difficult to avoid paying Bell, AT&T or whatever.

I am a new user to the X-lite. I installed the version 3.0 -56013.

I experienced the problem "registration error -401 Unauthorized"

I read through some discussions "web account and sip account pwds are not the same and caused this problem". I am not sure what it means? I have established the VoIPuser web access account. When I configured the X-lite, I use the same user name, authorized user name and pwd the same as the web account. I also set up the follow:
Domain: sip.voipuser.org
porxy: sip.voipuser.org
In the topology menu, I tried stun server: stun.voipuser.org

However, I continued geting this 401 error. Should I have to setup a SIP account somewhere else?

Thanks,
George

I too have problems now for many months even, voipuser is not working eventhought it is logged in and everything seems fine, but no single outgoing and no single incoming call works. But it shows registered on my xpro.
All the others work, only not voipuser.

Welcome to Voipuser forums.

I think you are using X-Lite under MS-Windows (?) so which version of MS-Windows are you using. Were you trying to register on to Voipuser? Our voip proxy is sip.voipuser.org not voipuser.org perhaps that is the problem. It would be best if you posted your configuration to make it easier to find the problem.

Hello,

I'm using x-lite from 2006, not that intensive because I've got an SIP adapter.
Now I'm far from home, I'm using x-lite and I've got some obvious troubles with it (I think is about ports). I can talk behind a router, at job, but not behind another routers, when I'm living. I guess is about ports, the registering process went smooth, I can call too but no sound at all.
To be able talking in my country after the job program, I had to subscribe to justvoip.com pre-paid service, their voip client working just great. The big advantage is that I have free minutes in most of landlines of my interest, the big disadvantage (not that big though) is I don't have an outbound number.
On the other hand, using x-lite I have an advantage of the outbound number from my country voip provider (I have pay-as-I-talk contract with it), because I can use the account almost free for landlines, keeping more free minutes from jusvoip account in order to talk international, so I can keep a tough control over the telecom expenses.
So, the questions are:
1.it is possible to use the ports of jvoip client for x-lite, rather than changing routers configuration (I don't have access to them)?
2.How can I change the default ports in x-lite?
3.How is possible jvoip ports (I've seen they are even changing at each logon) to be accepted by all routers and x-lite's not?

Thank you!

Are you using STUN in X-Lite? If not give it a try it should help ( stun.voipuser.org ).

I've used one delivered by my provider, now I've replaced with your. The sound problem remains. Thank you.

Well, I don't use the X-Lite MS Windows version often but give these settings a try...

TOPOLOGY tab

IP Address
(set) Discover global address

STUN server

(set) Use specified server: stun.voipuser.org

(set) Enable ICE

Port used on local computer

(set) Manually specify range put in the range you want

Those are the settings that I have.
