As another measure to protect the community minutes "pot" we have altered the way that the sign up process works so that we have a delay in between a new member signing up and their ability to make outbound PSTN calls.

This delay is 72 hours.

In practice what it means is a new member can setup and get their SIP phone setup perfectly, but cannot make PSTN outbound calls until 72 hours after the time that they first signed up for a SIP account with VoIP User. Inbound will work immediately, as will outbound calls which are VoIP only, to another VoIP User member for example, or any of our SIP peers (I will publish a list shortly).

The idea is (a) to protect our pot in the event of having a sudden influx of new traffic and users and (b) to ensure that new members have had plenty of time to understand the economics of the VoIP User model.

An email is sent out when the PSTN access has been enabled.

Existing members are obviously completely unaffected by this.

Thanks,

Dean & Tj
