Fellas,

I have X-Lite v 3.0 and Trixbox. I have two client machines with webcams but I can't get them both to video. I can get them to call no problem.

I have one video screen from the current client machine but when I try to send the video to the other computer it doesn't work in a LAN environment.

It has a window on top that says "Buy eyebeam? Do I really need this to have it send video to another X-Lite phone? Is there something else in Trixbox that I can install like a codec or option to help me start this video session between phones?

Hi

Simple answer is who knows!, You havent told us what codecs you have set up or posted the relevent sections of the sip.conf.

Video does work on * but you hae to show what you have setup to start with.

So how did you get the video session to work on Trixbox? I also started NetMeeting but the video session doesn't work on it either. Any idea, clues or websites with a tutorial that I can visit or use to try and make this work?

Anyone with any other information or know of something possible like what Ian explained would be helpful. He says it has worked on TB and I would like to know how so I can try it with my X-Lite phones or NetMeeting or any other program.

Can you tell me how to tunnel down to the sip.conf file in Trixbox and also how to allow h.263 in the extensions?

Hi

In the general section of the sip.conf you need to make sure that videosupport=yes is there. then in the extensions you need
Code:
allow=h263 ; H.263 is our video codec
allow=h263p ; H.263p is the enhanced video codec

added to the codec list. then you should be good to go.

This looks very helpful. I've gone ahead and added the line regarding video support in the [general] section. I was also told to add something about extensions <202> because I am on a LAN with no outside connction or VoIP service provider. Then in the same general field I added the allow=h263 as well. I guess I will delete this field and then move it to the extensions field. Is there any particular area where i must had two parameters in the extensions.conf file?

Does eyebeam 1.5 have anything to do with the X-Lite phone or does it just enable this for you at the client level without having to do the networking to make it happen at no charge? I know they are charging $60.00. I am needing to run an implementation today and I want to atleast show the video portion. If I can't get it to work I am prepared to explain it takes configuration and softphone compatibility to make it happen and that Trixbox is not video enabled from the start.

Ian,

Can you post or PM me a sample sip.conf file so I can use it? I corrupted mine and believe that I have made too many changes to it that I am not sure what is original and what is new. I forgot to save a copy of my original sip.conf file.

Thanks.

I tested video setup and for me it worked on LAN as well as for remote users.

Just check sip.con file and configure it for following or similar settings:

[general]
videosupport=yes
bindport = 5060 ; Port to bind to (SIP is 5060)
bindaddr = 0.0.0.0 ; Address to bind to (all addresses on machine)
disallow=all
allow=g729
allow=h264 (use h264 Only if you are using asterisk 2.4)
allow=h263p
allow=h263
allow=ulaw
allow=alaw

In above configuration videosupport=yes will enable asterisk for video. If you are using x-lite free version which supports h263 and h263p.
You can use grandstream GXV-3000 phones which support video and also very cheap compare to other brands (approx 210$)

Thanks,
Ganesh
