That'll immediately send you over the +10 upper limit and should keep you in outbound calls for a while.
How? Simple, write a review of your VoIP phone/ATA device.
Following several comments in the poll thread we had last month, we'd like to beef up the reviews section.
I've recently revamped the whole thing, in particular the index page:-
http://www.voipuser.org/review_index_all.html
All published reviews will get the poster a £20 donation direct into their VoIP User outbound account.
A couple of points. Reviews which are too short "It's great, buy one!" will not get published. For an idea on the type of review that will get published, take a look at an example here:-
http://www.voipuser.org/review_34.html
Don't worry too much about language etc, we can tidy that up. Don't worry about an image either, we'll do all of that.
What we really need is your opinion on the product, it's good points, it's bad points, build quality, cost etc and summarised at the end with a nice conclusion.
Reviews can be submitted here:-
http://www.voipuser.org/modules.php?op= ... ite_review
.... although I recommend writing it in notepad first, saving as you go and then copy/paste it in at the end, just in case you write an epic and it gets lost for some reason
We will only publish reviews of devices not already listed in the reviews section.
We'd really like to see what you think of everything else that's out there.
Please note that reviews are reviewed and published manually, so might not get listed for a couple of days. PayPal donations will be reflection in your Account Rating the day after publication.
I will be retrospectively making £20 PayPal donations to all users who have already submitted reviews, but that might take me a few days to get through them all.

Dean,
Can we write reviews about VOIP services too or it is just VOIP phones(hordwares). I feel there is more to write on VOIP related services too. |

Just phones at the moment.
But yes I can see the value in having some independent voip ISP reviews. At the moment we just don't have an appropriate section on the site, or a database of providers and features (I have all the data, just not in a database ).
I think that will be a project for further down the line...

I've been shopping around for a good Voip provider and trying lots out lately. Would have been nice to find more resources and reviews on them. |

The theory is good but there are just thousands of providers and it's open to abuse (service providers reviewing their own company are unlikely to be impartial !)
Please stick to hardware for now |

Hardware and maybe software.
Thanks to everyone that so far has submitted a review. There's about 6 in the queue that haven't gone live yet - I'll try and get around to that at the weekend.
A couple are just too short to publish, but I will email those submitters and ask for some more detail.
Thanks,
Dean |

Hi can i post any hardware that features SIP? because i was looking to buy the Nokia N95 when it gets released in the UK and it featuers SIP over Wi-Fi, and I was wondering if reviewing the SIP side and features of that would count as a hardware review. |

Hi Johnnyw2k and welcome to Voipuser
That should be interesting especially if you also document the setup process and include the configuration info you used. Please make a note of it and include it in your review as I feel sure this will help a lot of potential users. (Assuming the phone does what it is supposed to do of course) |

Interesting, Sir I have this unit. and I love it.
http://www.avm.de/en/Produkte/FRITZBox/ ... index.html
Intelligent bandwidth management for perfect voice quality
=> this is simply incorrect, I have detailed measurings for this, I don't think AVM would like me to write it, but it is my observations.
Integrated, TÜV-tested firewall protects connected PCs
=> This has to be taken with great care, I have done extensive port scans on this unit and I have some observations which might be interesting, NEVER put this unit in any DMZ = Demilitarized zone. Some SIP providers opens ports which you don't want exposed.
mandatory is www.portforward.com before this is integrated.
some routers support port trigger and stateful packet inspection, which is difficult with this unit.
I have used it since it came to the marked with many SIP providers and different modems from deutsche telekom, Lucent and Thomson, it clearly belongs behind a router, or a modem which is not in bridged mode.
I use it with this telephone
TEL 5 clip
http://www.audioline.de/catalog/product ... cts_id=465
A huge variety of extensive information including source code is available
http://www.wehavemorefun.de/fritzbox/Main_Page
sourcecode is here, but I haven't verified this.
ftp://ftp.avm.de/develper/opensrc/
Other technical articles are available here.
However I feel that the quality and usefulness is do be discussed elsewhere.
http://www.ip-phone-forum.de/forumdisplay.php?f=444
http://www.tecchannel.de/server/extra/434025/
I haven't tried all of this, but it is written alot about all Fritz units. Based on the same ARM CPU.
The unit has different names and was distributed through some ISPs. Some features are equal for all Fritzboxes, only differences in FW.
Summary:
If noone else at voipuser has this unit and is willing to write a technical review, critical, I can do so.
the basics of this unit is the same as the more recent fritzboxes which already has a review. |

I just posted a review of the Speedport W701V. Hope you find it useful! I'm really thrilled about my first serious foray into VOIP. |

Welcome to VoIP User nostartnoend and thanks for posting the review.
I'm very behind with them I'm afraid, so there's a few in the queue to post up. I'll try and make time to get them live this weekend.

Would you be interested in a review of the Nokia N800 internet tablet as a VoIP device? It's certainly a lot more than a VoIP phone, but especially with the newest OS's good presence/internet call integration, I think it's a very good device for VoIP use.
If you're interested I'd be happy to write one; I haven't had the device for all that long but I've used it a great deal (not so much for VoIP yet, though; I'm working on that at present) and have done a lot of reading about it as well. |

Welcome to VoIP User Nat.
Reviews can be of any device as long as it works as some kind of VoIP phone. |

Hello,
I just posted a review of the Apple iPod Touch as a SIP phone. I hope you think the review is accurate and helpful. I also just registered for your outbound service (which I will use for the iPod touch), and am happily waiting the three days before use. Since I can't really afford to pay much for VOIP service, I though I would contribute in another way - writing a review. Hopefully you learned from and enjoyed the review. If anything needs to be changed, or if you want screenshots/pictures, feel free to ask.
