I have a Fujitsu FDX-840 flashed with the DVG-1120S firmware to allow for SIP (original FDX didn't support SIP) but I'm stuck at the configuration - I'm not even sure it can be configured with voipuser.

I managed to get it going over sipgate for outbound calls only - it sort of worked. Nothing with voipuser though. Any advice from anyone with experience with the DVG 1120 S would be appreciated.

Hi Mcrosby,

Welcome to VoIPUser forums!

I never knew you could flash a DLink DVG-1120 firmware to a Fujitsu FDX-840 VoIP Station Gateway. Can you please tell us how you managed to flash a DLink DVG-1120S firmware to your Fujitsu FDX-840 VoIP Station Gateway? Is this a straightforward task? Also, is there any other reasons (besides the Fujitsu FDX-840 doesn't support SIP) why you prefer a DLink DVG-1120S firmware over the original firmware? AFAIK, unlike the Fujitsu FDX-840 firmware, the DLink DVG-1120S firmware doesn't support STUN Server optiones.

Hi,
I have the same hardware and firmware.
Have been using it successfully with Plustalk (isp Plusnet) service. All my calls go out as voip by default.
There is a configuration example here:
http://www.vbuzzer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2247

DVG-1120S firmware can be obtained here:

http://www.geocities.com/sigmaz_1/
You need to set up a TFTP server in order to flash the firmware.

What about the firmware for Fujitsu FDX-840 and where can I download a copy from?

You don't need to - just download the DVG-1120S firmware and put it on the FDX - it must have the same insides or something, because it just behaves like the dlink box after the flash.

Afaik, there is no firmware for the FDX apart from the BT Broadband Voice firmware it has as standard - I believe the fujitsu was developed just for voip companies like bt, so its all locked down. Thats the whole reason why its been flashed with the dlink firmware.

I believe BT's firmware for Fujitsu FDX-840 is SIP based and the device occasionally gets firmware upgraded through the provision. If anyone has an access to the provision page to find out the provision server and firmware filename, I am sure we can easily retrieve the latest version firmware to use to replace the buggy and outdated firmware from DLink.

The BT firmware is locked to BT Broadband Voice though?

Anyhow, I still can't get this working - here are my current settings:

I believe the SIP Domain should be sip.voipuser.org and not voipuser.org.

BTW, do you know if BT keeps this firmware updated to have bugs fixed and/or adding new features? If so, do you also know if this firmware supports SIP with STUN Server Option? If so, I would appreciate if anyone can tell me where I can download a copy of this latest firmware. I am not particularly worrying about the device is locked to BT because its admin password can be easily located within the firmware (if it's done like the way DVG-1402S firmware is done).

I'm not sure if BT update the firmware automatically, because they have advised users to manually update firmware in the past.

Saying that, the BT Voyager 10V Telephone Adapter is now the standard device on BT BBV - BT don't even support the FDX anymore.

Thanks for the configuration advice - I'm still having trouble getting this thing to work - I think the main problem is that it has a local IP - when this device trys to register, it fails because it reports its IP as the local one, not the actual Internet IP. Its even on the DMZ, but that wont help because it still has a local IP. There must be a way of hacking this to allow it to send the real IP.

I'm stuck otherwise because I'm on a LAN, with no way of connecting to the "real" internet (internet connection is in the loft, which connects to a router then about 20 other machines come off of that. I can't cut off 20 users every time I reset the FDX!)

Could there be any other firmware thats compatible with this chipset?

Do you still remember the link to download the last firmware?

This is the main issue with a DVG-1120 firmware. DLink expects the device to be connected directly to the Internet with a public IP address, i.e the firmware doesn't support for Outbound Proxy nor STUN Server Options. That's why I was more interested in the Fujitsu FDX-840 firmware to see if it has these features to play with.

You can connect this device directly to the Internet feed and attach a 24-port switch to its LAN port. Then, attach each device to each of the 24 ports on the switch. Honestly, I really don't like this idea because the DVG-1120S firmware is only equipped with bare (minimal) router functions.

I hope there will be.

Right, I've gone to a friends house and hooked this box up there - had to completely refresh back to factory settings, then reconfigured.

I'm now able to receive calls on the unit and speak and hear the other caller, but am not able to make outgoing calls. I've called the echo test number and have been able to hear myself talking back after the initial introduction. Any ideas?

I thought it might be an account problem now since I could connect to echo test but nothing else outgoing.

This doesn't make sense. If you could make an echo test, then that is the proof of making an outgoing call!

Exactly, which means it must be account related. Can the moderator check my account please?

I'm getting a password failure on asterisk when trying to place a call on the trunk. Any ideas?
