Have trawled through the forum to see if anyone has done this but can't seem to see any ref to it (apologies if it is there)...
Basically I have a BT Voyager 10v and want to unblock it so that it is isn't tied to the BT Broadband Voice service. Have a linksys PAP2 as well which is running fine with the Voipuser SIP settings no prob.
Any ideas appreciated - I've seen a couple of lines of javascript for the BT Voyagers that include routing but nothing talking about the 10v...
cheers

I think BT BB Voice uses H248 rather than SIP so may be of little use even if you found a way in.

Hi,
I managed to use my voyager 10v with sipgate.
Basically power off. hold the reset button in and power on wait for all the leds to stop etc.
then telnet to it user and password = admin
type ? to get a list of commands
type 'sip' to see what you can do. then try to configure your account e.g. 'sip reg_pry = sipgate.co.uk' etc.
when done try setting 'set sip reg_flag on'
then 'sip register'
if it works then log into therouter via the browser and go into advanced. clisk on system then Voice. make sure its activated and save the settings followed by reboot.

Welcome to Voipuser Paul
Interesting input ! Can anyone else check Paul's procedure and confirm that this works? |

I should mention that the original Voyager 10V was designed for MGCP. You need to download the latest firmware which is a SIP version.
Then play around with the Telnet commands. One thing i found was that you have to go into the web dialogue and 'Apply' the changes to make the 'set sip reg_flag on' command 'stick'.
Also the unit has two phone ports but from what i have seen they have to belong to the same SIP provider as you can only enter this data once gloabally for both ports.
If anyone is interested i could be persuaded to write a better guide...

Write it and they will come, you can be sure of that. It will be picked up on by search engines in no time.
If you have a few moments to make it into a step by step guide then I am sure it will be a useful resource |

Hi,
I'm also struggling with a 10V, had got part of the way with telneting in to change the SIP config, but had missed/messed the commit part.
Paul-m, a full guide would be excellent!
My question is firmware related. The one i have is loaded with version 2.13, and the current BT offering is 2.16. Is anyone using the newer version, and does it still have the ability to change the SIP config from telnet? I know it's already pretty locked down, but things can always get worse!
thanks. |

I have my 10V upgraded to 2.16, and I still get telnet access. I can't, however get it to connect to anything I'm not really sure exactly which parameters to be setting, and it currently just sits with status: DNS Query Retry (in spite of putting all the servers in as IP addresses).
I have also noticed, even after turning off "auto provision" that it will do a DNS lookup (and presumably some other query) to www.voyager.bt.com. Not sure what's happening there...
So, seconded, Paul-m - a guide of what to set would be brilliant, if you would be willing

Oh, and just to add, the other weirdness is if I'm logged into the 10V via telnet, and use the web interface to save, then the whole thing just hangs (without saving it) |

hey eric,
it doesnt mean much, but the first check to voyager is a firmware check.

I use my Voyager 10v on its own plugged into my wireless LAN router as a separate device. Ideally it should be in front of it so as to provide the local ‘QoS’ to ensure my local network gives voice priority.
If asked for a user name or password then it is admin in both cases
Browse to router 192.168.0.3 – use your address
Front page shows the software version. Mine is Version 2.16
Click advanced, then confirm advanced
Click system and go through the update to latest release and then factory reset.
Leave the browser open.
Telnet to router 192.168.0.3 – use your address (run a windows command shell then run Telnet.)
Type ‘sip’ and a list of all the possible commands will fly by.
Sip show reg will give you the SIP config and its current state.
For my sipgate config it looks like this…
Connection Info:
-----------------------------------------------------
TEL number : 4808xxx
Expire Time : 30
Status : Registration OK
Registrar : sipgate.co.uk:5060
Proxy : not config
Service Domain : sipgate.co.uk
Outbound Proxy : sipgate.co.uk:5060
Enable : Yes
TEL number :
Expire Time : 30
Status : not ready or no need to Send Registration
Registrar : sipgate.co.uk:5060
Proxy : not config
Service Domain : sipgate.co.uk
Outbound Proxy : sipgate.co.uk:5060
Enable : No
The top block is telephone line 1 or cct 1.
So …
Sip set reg_srv sipgate.co.uk (your sip proxy etc.)
Sip set domain sipgate.co.uk
Sip set reg_pwd xxxxxx (your sip registration password)
Sip set outbound_pxy sipgate.co.uk
Sip set tel_num 1 4808xxx (your number)
Sip set tel_name 1 4808xxx
To check if it works try…
Sip register
Then sip show. If it looks similar to above the BBV light should come on and it should work.
Then ‘sip set reg_flag 1’
Then go to the browser page from above.
Click Voice then refresh. It should show Phone 1 active.
If all is well make sure click to ‘enable’ is selected and then click ‘Apply’
You can now click the reboot option and it should come back with the changes ‘committed…’
I did try to set up a second line using another sipgate id. but it wouldn't register and just cuased the first line to not work well.
Don't forget to back up your settings!!!!

I took a look on the specs of this BT Voyager v10 which looks similar to the specs of a DLink DVG-1120. Honestly, I don't know if these two hardware are identical but am wondering if anyone has ventured to successfully flash a BT Voyager v10 firmware to this DLink DVG-1120. It would be great if these two hardware are identical mainly because the DLink DVG-1120 has long been discontinued by DLink and can take advantage of using the BT Voyager v10 firmware upgrade. Anyone? |

@Mazilo
It seems possible. I (foolishly) signed up with BT for voip a few years ago. They provided me with a fujitsu FDX 840 which I later found to be a re-badged and re-boxed DVG 1120m. I flashed with the 1120s image.I have never used because at the time I needed STUN.
The voyager might be the latest incarnation of the FDX. If someone could tell me where to find a voyager v10 image I would be happy to try flashing it (I don't mind bricking the FDX). I looked at the BT site, but it seems that you have to have an account with them to download.
