| rgower : | | Sadly outbound IAX isn't available... yet? |
Nope - afraid it's only sip at the moment but it seems to work fine in Asterisk for me and many other users.
Although, IAX does go through NAT/firewalls easier

Is there any particular reason for not allowing IAX2 both ways? Dean and/or Tj?

Add me to the list, I'm using asterisk as well, so I will also use it as soon as it is available.

Oh, yes I see, I was a little confused and thought this was about the Outbound Service.

Ah, ok. Outbound on IAX is a little tricky for us at the moment due to the way the Cisco switches are configured.
Perhaps not impossible for the future, but we can't do it just at the moment without running an Asterisk server. That means additional bandwidth cost and for obvious reasons (keeping the outbound pot maintained) we really need to keep our overhead as low as possible.

Hello tjadick,
"Please send me a private message (site or mail) with the number you have on your account, that you would like to have forwarded over IAX togther with an IAX URI you want as destination.
Regards
Tj"
That was one of your message to a user, but my own case is the reverse: I need a uri/iax call forwarding service, whereby i can be assigned a uri/iax address to my mobile number. I have a DID with voxbone already, I will register the uri/iax address with voxbone and map my DID to the uri address you will assign to my mobile. If you do not ofer this service please refer me asap. Call forwarding is cheaper for me with this service. I have used it with Euroaix in the past. Please, email me seperately : cruz [!at] platinumplc.net (replace the [!at] with a @)
thanks
