Well it does say that on their website but I suspect they mean for SIP to SIP (or IAX) calls, which regular readers will know should be free anyway.

The website is poor, their explanations are less than helpful, the service is vague, the fact they leave you to negotiate OS software setup without guidance means they are new and inexperienced themselves.

The recommendation? - Run Away !

Distinctly lacking in information, yes, although it appears to me that it is actually for landline calls worldwide (they cite a Belgian landline number as an example). The OP mentions mobiles, but I certainly can't see any mention of that on the site. Seems unlikely to me - many mobile destinations cost upwards of 0.30c/min

So, maybe not quite run away, but certainly be wary. For example, for users wanting to call Pakistan, 0.02c/min is fantastic value for money.

So if you tend to call expensive destinations, and are techy enough to work out the config on your own for your device, I would say it's worth investigating. If you tend to make mostly local calls, probably not.

I agree.

VoIP websites are springing up from the cyberturf overnight like mushrooms in a wet forest.

They remind me of an expression I heard around the oil business in Texas in the eighties when oil blasted from $12 to just shy of $40. Pundits predicted $100 a barrel oil within the decade and everyone wanted a piece of it.
Updated for today's 'voiportunity' it'd be...

Question: How long you been in the VoIP business?

Answer: All day!

Even our magnanamous friends at Finarea can't offer us worldwide calls to all destinations including Cellular Networks for 2cents a minute, if the offer from Novaphon is correct then surely we can send them a lot of traffic from Voipuser? (All of the destinations we currenly cannot cover + all the national cellular networks too !!

The domain was created in May and expires next May. So, if they vanish in less than half a year, at least now you know that you can make a nice trip to Cluj in Romania if you want your money back. Mr. Green

No matter if this company will last for a while, ¿Have anyone tried it?. With so cheap calls I guess I can use it while exist.

Hi all:

Romania is one of the most expensive destinations for phone calls.Even on Voipbuster they charge 9 eurocents per minute, land lines... so maybe here is the justification for a romanian company to start this fight against their telekom... !!!!

I'd like to try but cannot see any demo user and password on their site. Can you please tell us what they are, and give url to the page on the site.

Many thanks

Stephen:

Apparently they do have a demo.

User id = demo
password = demo
Server = novaphon.com

I have not tried it. I just found the information here http://novaphon.com/client.html

I tried the demo and it worked with good call quality for almost 20 seconds, then cut, probably becouse of the demo account.

Since prices are really good (US $ 0.02 per minute anywhere) I tried to open an account with them but I got the message: The transaction failed. Please recheck your details.. I called my credit card bank and they told me the card was charged.

I hope Novaphone solve my problem. I also hope they didn't just want my credit card information.
