Greetings

Is there anywhere on the planet where there is any definitive news about the goings-on at Finarea SA?

I signed up with this outfit by depositing a fiver into my account (incidentally, I had to do it through PayPal because the Visa payment failed for no accountable reason) and since then I've only been able to complete one call succesfully. Log-on to the service has failed more times than it has worked. Three calls that I've been charged for were terminated before voice contact was made, and all test calls I've made to my own landline number have been terminated after just two rings.

I've emailed customer support twice for advice, but naturally, there's been no reply. Not even an acknowledgement.

Presumably, most people will shrug off this abysmal service, write off their fiver and just walk away, but if anyone out there is prepared to make a stand against e-pikeys, I've more than enough time on my hands to help co-ordinate a users' lobby.

Anyone prepared to stand up and be counted?

Greetings edyhuk and welcome to Voipuser

No one here condones nor supports bad customer service which is why we try to help out with some basic info for Finarea users.

I am not trying to defend them but as 'no frills' services go I believe I am one of many that find that if all you want to do is make a few calls to their somewhat volatile list of countries then their service actually does work really well almost all of the time.

I suspect you actually have a problem at your end. You didn't tell us anything about your connection or your setup, are you using their software or an alternative?

I think you have been too quick to blame others and with some more info we may be able to see how to get you up and running.

In all honesty, I don't think that the problems I'm having with voicecheap originate from my setup. I was using the free trial offer with no issues at all. I also use FreeWorldDialup with both X-Lite and SJ softphones, and while I appreciate that isn't quite the same technology, I think that if the trouble was at my end, that would be troublesome as well.

For the record, I'm using Voipcheap's own V2.07 build 211 beta client for my connection, running an XP sp2 on a Belkin Wireless network. I'm using a bog standard internet phone handset connected to the sound card which is as steady as a rock.

I can accept that beta programs will have teething problems, but what is annoying is that Finarea must be aware of these issues, yet they don't have the common courtesy to post these on their website, or reply to their customers' grievances. I think you'd agree that this is unacceptable business practice, and unless somebody makes a noise, it's unlikely to improve.
