I have sucessfully set up my voipuser.org account with X-Lite and STUN.
This saves punching holes in the firewall as suggested in Dean's setup.
(Should also mean that I can use it from multiple machines behind my router,
but I haven't tested that yet.)

Also, under Network settings: primary STUN server: stun.voipuser.org
Several wrong attempts, but seemed fine in the end.
I never did sort out what was wrong before...
could be (as pointed out in another post) that you need to be very careful when changing passwords in X-Lite, and that I got that wrong.

still not able to login...

Im using X-lite, plus I have a free FWD account.
My PC is running XP with XP firewall turned off.
I have no virus or scanning software installed.
Im not using any other hardware, I have broadband cable connection too.

Things Ive tried so far, after following the setup instructions posted at begining of this forum or thread...

tried under proxy 1, 2, 3 with default being FWD account
first using my new password, then I tried a reset then using my initial password when signed up with voipuser account.

Moved FWD to proxy 2, reset the default and put my details is.

When I restart X-Lite, I always get the
LOGIN FAILED
When I try a call I get:
Call failed: 407 Proxy Authentication Required

Please clarify in the SIP Proxy menu,
the details are basically three things:
voipuser.org
user name
password
?

i have followed those instruction by the book including the router's port mapping to my pc, where X-ten is installed.

I still get log in failed. the only difference is if i change to "REGISTER: NEVER", it shows logged in, but then i have other issues where if i make a called it shows "CALL FAILED 407: PROXY AUTHENTICATION REQUIRED"
leaving it on "REGISTER: DEFAULT" means "LOGIN FAILED: CONTACT NETWORK ADMIN"

Help pls.

Those three and either port forwarding in your router, or STUN if that will work with your NAT type.

It would be helpful if you both could test your port forwarding and come back and confirm whether or not that's working. I built a tool for testing that which is in the downloads section.

Hi All

I am using X-Lite. I have an account with Sipgate this is set as my default in SIP Proxy, and I have my voipuser.org set up under SIP Proxy 2, but it is not registering the voipuser.org is this due to it not been the default?

I would like to have my Sipgate account running along side my voipuser.org account.

How do I set up X-Lite to run both at the same time? For example, I can receive calls and make calls on both of them ?

Hi Seftek,

it shoudl register all accounts setup, so you might want to verify your settings as what you wan to do should be quite easy once you got all your accounts setup properly in X-lIte.

Regards,

Tj

Hi Tj

Thanks for your reply, I have it all set up ok (I think)

My Sipgate account has been working fine (most of the time)

I Opend my VoIP User Account and as per the instruction on the 1st page in this part of the form I set my VoIP User account up in X-Lite in the next available account slot, but I do not know if the VoIP User account connected to your server, as on the X-Lite soft phone screen, it was displaying my main account (Sipgate)

My question was how do I switch between these account for example: my sipgate account is the default account, so say I want to make an outbound call using VoIP User system not the sipgate system, How would I switch over to the VoIP User Accont ?

#2 is the prefix for the second proxy definition.
So:
enter number - use default
#1number - use first proxy
#2number - use second proxy etc...

It's in the Manual.

Have you received e-mail stating your VoIP user Outbound Service has been activated? Meanwhile, please observe/read the already established FAQ on making outbound calls.
