Sorry Claus, you're right. My error - I misread your post.

I'm not sure why you can't call that destination - we should be able to route it for less than 2.5p/min. It might well be a destination that is more costly at certain times?

Can you try again on Monday and let me know what happens?

Thanks,

Sure I'll try monday and most likely again tonight. If it will help the time I called was around midnight local time. I even tried two differnet phone numbers with the same result.

Thanks for the help.

Hello, I am a new user, I have read every post in this section and I still can not send or receive calls. I am using x-lite and it says that I am logged in.

I tried calling my home line in australia by dialling 006128347xxxx
It responds with "local calls only"
I tried a local UK number 020 7837 6655 (Carlton Hotel London) still get "local calls only"

When I call the PSTN number assigned to me when joining (08449865798) from my fixed land line I get and engaged sounding signal.

When I call the new number that I requested (08700683273) I forwarded it to sip:mkbrody@voipuser.org I get a message saying that this number is not in service.

Also how do enter sip:user@voipservice.com into x-ten lite.

Thank you in advance for trying to help me out.

Many new users, don't read posts here to find out why they can't do outbound calls, yet.

Perhaps, it's time for Dean/Tj to answer this question.

You first will need to enable characters in X-Lite software, then use spacebar to toggle from alphanumerics to characters and vice versa.

I hope that helps you out.

Hi mkbrody and welcome to the forum.

Just dialled from the UK and this number works fine.

As has been mentioned elsewhere in the forums, some telco providers in some non-UK countries will not allow you to dial a non-geographic UK number.

So your inbound is working fine. Have you received an e-mail from our server confirming your outbound PSTN access yet?

To enter a SIP address in X-Lite, just type it in on the PC keyboard.

Hi there, and thank you for your speedy responses,

I checked it all again and hey it all worked for about 10 minutes.

Unfortunately my inbound on
08700683273 seems to be constantly engaged now whereas befor I was able to call it from my home phone. My outbound only has one way speech from viopuser.org to the b party. I can't hear the b party.

Cheers,
Mike

Sounds like a firewall or codec issue....

What is your current setup and what codec's are you using....?

Cheers

Do you know which settings in particular? I am using the same soft phone (x-ten lite) on another two services and it works perfectly on both. its just when I enable voipuser.org (and disable the other two) that I only have one way speech.

Hello, y'all!

Firstly, thanks for this great service. I've been trying it out recently, and I just came across one little snag that I wanted to ask about. I'm using X-PRO, and I'm able to make calls to any number I dial. The problem is that they can hear me, but I can't hear them. I've tested it out quite a bit calling myself, and I'm not sure what's wrong. I haven't messed with the network settings, and it works fine with Stanaphone, FWD, and AdvanceCall, so it seems like it might be something specifically related to VoipUser. Thanks for your help.

Cheers!

You might get a better chance for people to help you out if you open a new post and also state how you setup your VoIP system as well as what kind of Internet feed do you have. The more you throw in, the better chance someone will be able to help you.

OK i've read as much as i can but at times it does get a bit too technical for me!

Ive installed X-lite and entered the matching details in the sip proxy settings (except for "authorization user", not sure what goes in there, i've tried blank, username, and other but to no avail).

However it never seems to connect and eventually goes to "Login timed out. Contact Network Admin". Initially i tried my changed password but read you need the original. Replaced password in the default proxy user but no change. Another post said to re enter details in Proxy 1, so i did, with the original password, but again it fails to login in, although i'm not 100% sure if it's accessing the default details instead of the new proxy 1 details.

I'm also behind a router, but have used voipbuster with no prob, so my non-technical mind would suggest that i should be able to at least login with no probs.

All help welcome, and apologies if there's an absurdely obvious post which explains exactly what i need to do and ive missed it. Thanks

I have been registered for months now and even donated 10 pounds towards the pot. Unfortunately I still get the "Local calls only" message when I try to dial PSTN landlines and my account rating is still negative even though it's been ages since the donation was made.

Dean, have you got any ideas on why this is happening?

I remember you saying in the past that the Account Rating being negative didn't matter if I had made a donation and that this was just an indicator. You mentioned that after making the donation, I will be able to make outgoing PSTN calls again but unfortunately I can't.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Mantrac,

I'll look into this now. Could be a bug - you definitely should have PSTN outbound acccess.

Sorry mantrac, seemed to be a bug.

Can you try again for me? All should be working ok now.

We haven't updated the user status element yet, so that will still show in the negative, although your donation was recieved (thanks very much) and you have been reset on the server end.

I will delete these posts later as this is the X-Lite setup thread, and now way off topic Wink
