I am new to the techno world, Smile yet i am doing my best to be like you guys Shocked
any way, i just managed to install Asterisk@home ( alone Very Happy ), and i used the Ambient MD3200 Modem with Intel chip.
durring my test i come to the following:

1) calls are answered by the Asterisk and diverted to the extention200 as it is by defult.
2)the caller from PSTN to my Asterisk listen to a very clear voice quality.
3) the Ambient MD3200 Modem does not hangup after the caller do, insted it keeps repeting the choices for quite long(up to 2 minutes after the actual call finish)
4)I also tried to conect my Lingo line(from DVG1402S/L) to the modem and it work when i am calling from another line yet the same problem in point 3.

Now it is the time to ask your help.
1) how can i listen to my voice mail? (when it is sent to my yahoo email it never open.) i think that is due to the fact that my Asterisk and my Windows XP PC are connected via a router(DI-604 from www.Dlink.com), so if i am true would some one tell me how to overcome that?
2) yet i am more than iger to know if i can listen to my voice mail directly from my AMP from the other computer connected to the Asterisk@home server.
3)is there any IVR in the Asterisk@home and how can i use it?
4)It is very important for me to be able to collect DTMF( that i am welling to built a system which allow any caller to my system to sent DTMF so i could collect it as numbers not tons)
5) If any one can tell me what i can do to have a system that will automaticly answer the caller and an IVR will ask him to put his code as DTMF main while i can requgnaiz it as numbers.

I would love to be a help, but yet i am learning tell and then would any one of you please be a help for me?!!!.
thanks

Hi Mathew,
A lot of questions to chew here, rather than try and answer all of them in detail (which would take a book), I'll point you in the right directions to find the answers yourself. You can always come back for more specific help if you get stuck.

The Ambient modem is using the Zap channel?
You will need to set Zap up so it understands your national telephone system (Guessing you aren't in the US). There are two files in /etc that need to be modified. Modules.conf and zaptel.conf. There is a thread here that will help.

Voice mail can be listened to on your phone by dialling *97 or *98 The lasts asks which extension's mail you want to listen too.
Otherwise you can listen to your e-mail by opening the AAH web page in your favourite browser and chosing Voice Mail. Username and password are the extension number and password you set for voicemail when setting up the extension.
Persuading AAH to actually deliver the e-mail version requires some configuration of Sendmail (It is not a problem with your router). I suggest installing a copy of Webmin to help with this and other nasties in the Linux closet.

AAH's IVR can be setup using Digital Receptionist in the AMP control panel. You can then direct the calls to IVR from Incoming Call Settings.
