Hi Kijaz,

Unless I have missed something reading the log list on the above post, I am afraid there is not much we can do mainly because it appeared your softphone failed to RECEIVE any response from the server. Without this response from the server, we don't know if your registration packets did ever get through to the VoSP server. That said, there is a chance your traffic was blocked along the path from your end to the VoSP server.

Kijaz:

Your problem doesn't seem to have a solution for now. Take a look at this post http://voxilla.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-4986.html where kijaz post here is also mentioned.

Port 5060 is being blocked in Pakistan.

It might only be temporary:-

Quote:
They didn't disclose any specific reason for blocking except saying that PTCL is upgrading there uplinks and blocking heavy data transfer.

..... if they're doing an upgrade.

We'll wait and see. In the meantime I'll see if we can bind additional ports to our SIP server.

Kijaz - if you download Skype, I'm pretty sure that will work as it can dynamically adjust ports, so that will keep you up and running.

I don't think its blocked 5060 in pakistan, unless you are with a isp who is offering there own voip service, if its a problem with wol, let me know, brainnet has there own voip service

There isn't one - Skype is a different network entirely. But they have a Skype-Out service for you to access PSTN at reasonable rates, and it should work, unless the PCTL decide to block port 80, which is unlikely as you won't be able to view websites Wink

I had originally posted on Voxilla. Now I have confirmed through multiple sources, 5060/5061 is blocked by PakInternetExch. There is no plan to open it anytime soon. Only option is to use alternate port settings with supporting servers. Future looks dark, at least for right now, because very few clients support outbound port modifications. Xten does not. Very few servers support inbound ports other than 5060/5061.

Sad Sad Sad

I've just tested with testyourvoip.com and can call London and Sydney fine. I can also open a TCP session to port 5060 on the voipuser.org server so it doesn't look like ports a blocked.

My X-Ten logs show only SENDS, no RECEIVES at all. It seems to me the only way to really diagnose what's going on here is to do network traces on both sides and confirm the packets are actually getting through, perhaps there is some other reason that the voipuser server isn't responding (timeout, latency, reverse lookups, who knows!!!).

Dear MarcBakker

In which country you have tested.

We are talking about Pakistan where 5060 port is blocked.

We once again requested the Admin to assingn additional port 6000 to voipuser.org. This port is working fine in Pakistan.

I'm in Australia. It is working again now so I don't know what's going on, it's been OK for a few days now.

Inexplicably this is what happened....

Starting X-Lite gave "Login timed out" and the logs showed no response from the voipuser server.

Then started EyeBeam, it logged straight on to voipuser.org!!!

Then started X-Lite again and it was now giving "Login failed" errors - this is because I don't know the passwrod anymore but at least I was seeing a response from the voipuser server in the logs.

EyeBeam still work fine!!!

This all happpened in the space of 10 minutes.... gremlins maybe between X-Lite and Eyebeam installed on the same machine.

BTW.... I wasn't trying to run both at once in case you're wondering.

Hi Kijaz

Eyebeam is a commercial programme and available from its providers. The same company provide XLite but Eyebeam is the replacement for XPro.

Why do you need eyebeam when you can get X-pro form Braintel website for free? Confused In Marcbakker case it seems like some password issue not port 5060 issue.

Is port 5060 still blocked by PTCL? there is an onther company known as vbuzzer who are using thier sip proxy at port 80, people using VOIP in Pakistan can take advantage of this service, have a look at this link:
