Hi amirsitepk and welcome to the forum

Wow - Excellent timing ! Your posting coincides exactly with some of my own thoughts and interests - it seems to be the case that there is currently no script in existance to do that job. There was aparently a limited early utility from the xlite stable, that works only in Internet Explorer but its not at all friendly and could do with a re write.

Lets offer this idea to some of the programmers who visit the site and ask for their help shall we ? I will post my original spec and lets try to refine it together to form an outline of the end requirement.

The intention would be to end up with a simple 'Open Source' utility that will have been developed by the Voipuser community. It would be nice to see it linking to a Voipuser SIP address.

Anyone who is concerned about making a contribution to the community and cannot generate inbound minutes can do so this way. I am sure we can offer an improved account rating to contributors.

So it looks like we have our second 'Voipuser Gauntlet Challege' ! AND a really good name for the final product !

Excellent Juan - You would be very welcome ... Here is the start of an

Outline Specification.

A simple API that can be installed on a website and able - if selected by a visitor to the site, to open a SIP session to a VOIPUSER SIP address.

1 ) It needs to function in all major browsers and on all main operating systems

2 ) Opening the API is triggered by an HTML button - it then opens in a separate window.

3 ) Prefereably without installing anything permanent on the initiating PC - just a popup window that disapears when closed?

4 ) It needs to detect whether a Mic and Speakers or a USB soundcard device (USB Phone) are available and connect them accordingly. Ths could be done with a quick STUN test.

5 ) It needs to overcome NAT and ports issues and function on a PC or MAC that does not necessarily have any other specific VOIP software installed or running, or any specific ports open.

6 ) It either needs to function invisibly to the Windows XP SP2 Firewall or cause Windows Firewall to pop up an 'access permission request' to the user.

7 ) It needs to disappear at the end of the session without leaving any trace.

8 ) It should revert to a simple text mode if a sound device is not detected.

9 ) The called number should be incorporated in the programme and not changeable by the caller. The aim is to make it as small as possible in terms of code and as simple as possible in terms of use.

Could be Active X ?

Summary

The overall purpose would be for personal contact with a website owner, for use on blogs and personal sites or commercially for enquiring about a service or project advertised on the website - along the lines of 'Live Help' which is messaging only. The call is passed to a registered Voipuser SIP address.

If it can be made to work fairly seamlessly on all platforms then it would be an excellent 'Powered by Voipuser' Application that could be implemented on any website. The developers would have input on the decision as to whether it was offered open source without charge or maybe used to bring in some voluntary paypal donations to help voipuser outbound call funding if the application was used on commercial sites.

If possible, stay away from the ActiveX. This is only my personal preferences.

Hi all

I have posted the old xlite app at http://www.cyber-cottage.co.uk/voipuser/
the directory requires a username and password.
The username is voipuser and the password is xlite
I will of course have to remove it if xten get in touch Sad for this reason i will keep an eye on the logs this week and may pull it off after a week or so and then it will be avalible on request.

This app does work quite well as it will auto discover firewalls etc, but it does need an update.

any questions PM me.

Hi Gray

Thanks for your reply and the support to initiate the 'C2C Voipuser' project

i am not the programer i am just searching for the solution which i want to use in my customer support project i have just ideas. The program should act like that and the implimentation of the program (C2C voipuser)

Please add some functions if u can in your Outline Specification

1-the web based program click to voipuse (C2C voipuser) should send the IP address of the web page where the C2C voipuser button is displayed to the CLI window in Voip user account

2-The C2C voipuser button should disply the status of the person online or offline

3-the script must be very simple that any anyone just add voipuser SIP address and the program genarate its HTML codes

4- If there is no voice link the script or program should establish a Text link with the web page visitor and Vopiuser email account

Thanks

Amir

Thank You Amir

Good additional points. I am not a programmer either so we hope this little challenge grabs the imagination of some of the programmers here.

What do you think guys ? (and girls too of course !) Wink

Something a bit like this then...

http://www.voipfone.co.uk/PB_Call_Me_Back.php

(I don't work for them, just noticed it and thought it looked useful).

Good luck to all you programmer types.

Hi Joe - Yes a lot like that except with no cost involved. The concept that is being discussed is that it would connect via SIP back to your VOIPUSER account.

There are more commercial solutions arriving daily and very sadly still no OS script.

Another commercial one here .... http://www.icallonline.com/

For me its still a major interest to see a simple 'click to call script' that links a website, email or blog to a Voipuser SIP address. Is there no one amongst our ranks that can take a look at this, Either I will put a 'reward' in place from my own pocket for the best working solution donated to the Voipuser community and made available for general use OR I am sure we can persuade Dean to allow the publishing and distribution here of a 'Shareware' script with a small voluntary payment back to the author from users that download and use. There are over 20,000 potential current 'Voipusers' that are prospective users so get in touch if you have some ideas.
