Hey guys,

So my supervisor came to me last week with a plan to switch over our traditional PBX system to a 3CX one. He did most of the setting up with 3CX Server, and most of the configuration on the Voip Gateway. We were testing it and it doesn't really work to how we want it to work. Now, he is gone on a business trip and I'm left to work it out. I was really excited to get to work on it myself - but now I gotta say I'm really frustrated. I have spent the last week up late every night trying to see the bigger picture with this.

So, this is what we have: we have 3 POTS lines coming into the office, with a analog Patton 4114 VoIP gateway, and a 3CX IP-PBX. We have our POTS lines setup at the Telco so that we have one number that people dial and it goes to one of the three lines. What we want is when the number is called is that it goes to the Digital Receptionist on the 3CX Server. Its sounds great to me!

Here lies the problem. If I call the number, the first call goes to the digital receptionist like its supposed to but when call another time while the other call is still on the digital receptionist - it just rings for ever. I need it so if all three lines have incoming calls at the same time they all go to the Digital Receptionist.

So what I've been beating myself up over with has been the configuration of the VoIP gateway. I've been trying to understand how it works at a basic level - so I can get an understanding of what is really going on.

I'm really hoping there is someone out there with Patton Smartnode experience. I guess my question is: does this sound like a Mapping Table problem in the Context Switch?

Cheers!
