Hello all! This is my first post on this forum! I want to create a webpage for our Windows-Server based LAN which is entirely offline (no internet access), but on this webpage I will put a list of common phone numbers and extensions. But when you click the link, it will start a phone call from the polycom phone in that office (I understand this will require special per-computer settings to handle IP addresses). We don't need to receive calls this way - I only want to initiate calls. The idea is that I have a list of numbers, click on that phone number, and the office's phone dials out automatically. Our phone server is Asterisk running on a Linux machine. The computers are all Windows computers, XP and later. Can I do this?

Yes you can, Look at the click to call code posted here as well as and example using greasemonkey here

with this you will be able to do what you want

Thank you for answering, and for the link. I have been searching all over for an answer to what I want - but never have I seen anything to make the html page work with my polycom-asterisk phone that sits on the wall next to me. I will play with this script and see. Too bad there isn't just a commandline app that I can associate with the callto: link!

Do you say that when I click the links that I can then pick up the handset on the wall-phone (it's asterisk, after all) and use that wall-phone with its handset? I don't want to use a softphone.

Oh! I think I am having problems. Our LAN is entirely offline, so I am trying the test out on my own desktop computer, which is offline. I have installed greasemonkey, and downloaded the vtiger package. I tried loading the php file into the browser, and it did prompt me to install the greasemonkey script, but that is all. What do I do to get the browser to act when I click on a link? It should be a callto: link, right? Firefox just opens the "launch application" window and asks me to choose a softphone. Also, do I need to use the flashphone? Thank you for your help!
