Hello

I help some people with thier void, they have a sipura 2000, with software: 2.0.11(g) .

The internet connection is quite good and stable, but still there is tons of problems all the time. (all the different types).

I wonder would it be better to buy a newer adapter, and what would be the best and most stable adapter (I dont need one with Router, because is a company and I cannot change the router).

?

Best regards, And thanks alot if someone can be of any help.

As far as I know the SPA2000 is an old model but it is a good design and works well for many people. Having the router there can be useful for accessing the web configuration page. Perhaps it would be best to sort out what is causing the problems as it is most likely something wrong with the configuration. What problems are you seeing?

This firmware is way too old.

A firmware upgrade to the latest version that fixes a lot of bugs and holes will probably get rid off the problems.

AFAIC, even though the device is dated back in earlier to mid 2000, it is still an excellent ATA device that is capable to cope with the current VoIP demand unless you have a need for a broadband CoDec.

For the present, rather than mess with the firmware, I would check that the configuration is OK. The firmware is (I think) one of the last provided specifically for the 2000. On the other hand, the more recent ATAs are not expensive (The SPA3102 is better supported and similar to the 2000 is only about $80-$100).
