Hi, I also recently signed up. Many thanks for the service.

My iNum also does not appear to be working. Calling it from an iNum local access number in Phoenix, just disconnects.
Also, I'm not certain which is the inbound number to call to increase my account rating from -0.

I assume it's the 0703.. number (the prefix I chose) which appears under "My Numbers" panel as "My PSTN Inbound numbers?" After the 72 hour waiting period, I was assigned a PSTN 0844... which appears in the "VoIP User Outbound Service" under "My SIP Account."

I'm running Windows X-Lite ver 3.0. Dialing out on it, I've been able to connect to local AZ land lines, my local mobile and a number in Glasgow, Scotland. The assigned outbound PSTN 0844 number appears in my mobile's caller id.

I used Talkster.com to create a local access number to call the UK 0703... number (to avoid Intl calling rates). Currently Talkster replies "the line is busy." This past weekend, using Talkster, it connected but did not terminate per my selection in the control panel. But Talkster stated it left a voice mail message. But I did not receive an email indicating a voicemail being received.

My current Termination Options for all 3 time periods is currently set to my SIP username[!at]...etc.

I'm attempting to use the local Talkster.com number to connect to my inbound (?) VoIPUser 0703.. number, to increase my account rating for one, and have the call terminate at my X-Lite softphone, (or other #).

I'm obviously doing something wrong. Your help is appreciated with my thanks in advance.

Welcome to Voipuser forums.

The Voipuser incoming PSTN service is really centred around incoming calls from within the UK. Whether or not the numbers can be called from outside the UK depends on you local carrier. Even if the numbers can be called from outside the UK is usually very costly (the 0844 number is the least expensive). If you have friends or relatives in the UK the service can be very useful but if you just want to make outgoing calls then it is best to get use a commercial voip provider (of which there are plenty to choose from - call rate to Scotland should be about 1 cent/min). If you still wish to use the Voipuser service for ougoing PSTN calls then it is possible to make a donation to Voipuser and that will give you some more outgoing calls.

Your iNUM goes to your Voipuser account number not to the "My Numbers" number. To accept the call you need to be logged into your voipuser account number and X-Lite should ring.
The least expensive way to make calls is to call SIP to SIP. If you call a person in Scotland who uses Voip then you cam probably use iNUM or SipBroker numbers to do that or they may be able to call you.

Thank you for the reply. I have several questions:

Quote:

1. This is not working for me. When calling my iNum with my X-Lite logged into VoIPuser's servers, my X-Lite does not ring. Recent posts indicated the VoIP database not containing a user's iNum number. Would that also be possible for my iNum?

2. For the above, I assume I don't need to also be logged into my VoIP account here on this website?

3. The expense aside from calling to the UK from outside of the UK, is my given 0703 UK number my "inbound number" to be used to increase my VoIPuser account rating?

Thank you.

That problem with the database was solved a while ago.

No, but X-Lite must be logged in to your voip account.

Yes, calls to the 0703 number help your rating. Calling it from the US (if it can be called) is a very expensive way to do it. An 0844 number is less expensive to call.

We spoke last week. Thank you for the call. My iNum still does not appear to be working. Calling the local iNum access number still disconnects. There was mention of requesting UK to check the dbase. Have you heard back? Thank you for your time.

Yes, I posted a comment that there was a problem but I don't think anything has been done yet. I will check.

no matter which access numbers I call within the US , it doesn't work.

Look for the numbers on the bottom of this page:

http://www.inum.net/what-is-inum/inum-partners/

No matter which number i dial, i get this message:

Welcome to Inum, please enter the inum number you wish to reach...

I enter the number, the voice says 'connected' and then call disconnects.

I tried this already with 4 different access numbers.

The admin let me know of the problem last week. In my case it may be due to their dbase not having have my number, the way the number is assigned but not placed into the dbase. I too have the same issue with local USA Inum access numbers. But it also may be due to another issue VoIPuser is currently having.

They noted it here on their forum on Dec 6: http://www.voipuser.org/forum_topic_17519.html

Thus, currently I also can't call to or connect to another SIP account with my X-lite softphone, for example to "John Todd's Screaming Monkeys" at 1234 [!at] loligo.com (replace the [!at] with a @). [grin]

But I don't mind waiting. VoIPuser Admin dibsmft has been very patient and considerate in answering many of my questions.

The servers appear to be up, since my X-Lite phone is now working. But my iNum still does not appear to be working as before noted above - could it still be the issue with the database as noted before the Holidays?

Thank you very much.

Any news about the Inum for my account?
Again using a local Inum access number then dialing my Inum disconnects & does not connect to my X-lite softphone. As if the Inum doesn't exist.

Thank you very much.

I think you iNUM may be working now. As you know, Voipuser has been undergoing upgrade but now sevices seem to be coming back on line. My INUM in now working normally via Voxalot (there is no local number for me). I may check your number later in the day.

I checked this morning. Again, calling a local Inum access number then entering my Inum, a disconnect happens.

There was mention of checking with your counterparts in the UK about the database - that some Inum numbers are not automatically placed in the database for new users, or similar?

Again, thank you very much for your time.

Hi. I haven't logged in since January 2010. But I'm still noticing my INUM is not working. Again as I noted before, when I call a local INUM access number, a connection never occurs then the call drops or hangs up on me.

Before you're problems over the holidays (last Winter) Mr. Loader mentioned that my INUM number may not be associated with my VoipUser phone numbers in your database. Is this the problem?
Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi, guys,

After reading this topic I've tried to call my Voipuser iNUM. Got a message "Not Found".
What's going on?

At present, outgoing call to iNUMs seem to be working OK from Voipuser but incoming calls via iNUM are not. I guess they are still working on the servers.
