How to make and receive calls using Voipuser

(Note - Don't forget you have to wait 72 hours before you can make outbound calls if you have a new connection)

Making Calls

Just dial as you would from any other telephone, using the full international country code and omitting the leading zero from the number you are dialling:-

+ <Country Code> <Number without leading Zero>

The plus ("+") can be substituted with a double zero ("00") and is optional but recommended.

Receiving Calls

Calls TO Voipuser can be made from the UK and from SOME other countries but not all. If your Telecom company is blocking calls to your UK 0844 then get in touch and ask for the restriction to be lifted - they may have applied the block as a default without realising it is a valid number series.

If you are giving your Voipuser numbers to callers in the UK then they just dial 0844 98xxxxx

If you are giving your Voipuser number to callers in Europe then they just dial 0044844 98xxxxx

If you are giving your Voipuser number to callers in the USA or Canada then they dial 01144844 98xxxxx

In general - calls to the 0870 are more likely to be connected from outside the UK, but charges for this are higher.

To call a fellow Voipuser from Voipuser - just use their 084498xxxxx. With no prefix. Think of it more as an ID than a phone number. If you have alphanumeric dialling you can also call other VoIP User members by dialling their website username.

Let me know if there are mistakes here or other scenarios to add and I will edit the sticky. G
