Hello,

We have a trixbox server which we're attempting to connect a asterisk 1.4 server to via IAX2 trunk. The trunk is established and we're able to conference with meetme just fine. The problem we're experiencing is when conferencing, voice sounds jittery.

trixbox1*CLI> iax2 show peers
Name/Username Host Mask Port Status
Server1/Server1 10.13.xxx.xxx (S) 255.255.255.255 4569 (T) OK (1 ms)

This only happens when calling into the meetme conference system. I've tried adding buffering to meetme.conf however this just added a delay, did not fix the jittering in the voice. I don't believe I can do jitterbuffers as 1.2 does not support this feature.

Any help would be appreciated. Let me know what information you need and I will provide it.

Also note we have a wan card with a timing source using the zaptel kernel module, it appears to be functioning correctly.

Again any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ben

Also thought it might be helpful to see the output of iax2 show netstats when dialed in...

trixbox1*CLI> iax2 show netstats
-------- LOCAL --------------------- -------- REMOTE --------------------
Channel RTT Jit Del Lost % Drop OOO Kpkts Jit Del Lost % Drop OOO Kpkts
IAX2/Server2User-13804 3 -1 0 -1 -1 0 -1 1 0 40 0 0 0 0 0

Hi

yes you can set jitterbuffers up in 1.2 with iax.

but looking at the link rtt I dont think Jitter is the issue.

It looks like a meetme/timing issue
