Hi. This is for Dean or who ever is looking after the server .

Is it possible to confirm whether a number is still operational?
I have a SIP number that works fine and 0870 that terminates on my * via iax and an 0844 that also terminates on my * via IAX, now all 3 have worked fine for a long time. until a few weeks ago, Since then the 0844 fails, no changes had been made to the *, I now have it pointing at the same guest account on my * as the 0870, But looking at the iax debug the call doesnt seem to even hit my server ?

If I call from my IAX account on my * I get a message back saying congestion!!

Can anyone shed any light on whether the number is valid still as it was my remote access number.

Hi Ian,

Strange one.

I can confirm that no numbers have been altered by us at the server end. We wouldn't do that, or anything that might cause an issue, without mentioning it well in advance.

You can always test the number by pointing it to a landline for a test call. That might be worth a quick check.

Hi Dean.

well I have diverted the number to a pstn number and it worked. so I point it back to IAX2/guest@bathfordhill.gotdns.com which is the same as the working 0870 and it fails. it looks as if the call doesnt even hit my *. im now confused.
Any chance of deleting and recreating it? I dont want to waste numbers by getting another 0844 as I use it for dialin to get messages and check who has rung.

Sure - just hit the delete button and request another one.

There is nothing wrong with the number though - it's working fine, so it won't actually help.

You have something setup wrong - I'd double check for typo's.

Hi I will do that.

Normally I would say a typo, But the fact is it was working then stopped.
It is now set up in "your numbers2 to point to the same guest account as I have a few iax numbers as well as the 0870 from voipuser and these all work fine just the 0844 does not work and looking at debug it doesnt even hit me!!
So a typo is out of the question. I will get a new number and take it from there.

Cheers Ian

Hi,

I'm having the same problem - I have a few numbers which terminate via IAX to an asterisk box.

Everything used to work, but one has not been working for the past few weeks - I thought it would fix itself but it hasn't.

I just tested 2 of them - 1 works and 1 doesn't but they have the exact same config in my numbers.

On the one that doesn't work, I just get the voipuser voicemail instead of it going to asterisk.

Well as Suzi of the said Banshees said "Its a miss-story" As I have deleted my old 0844 number created a new 0844 number pasted the destination from the 0870 number and it works. No changes to my end not, even logged on to it.

Oh well at least it works now Smile

I've been having the same problem with one of my numbers.

I went into the control panel and edited the number (basically just hitting submit without any changes).

This has fixed it for me.

I'm trying to find out what the cause is of the problem, but at least this temporary fix should help you guys.

Hi Tj,

I already tried that and it didn't help, so I just tried changing it to something else, submitting, then changing it back - still doesn't work.

I'll pm you the numbers - maybe you can see something at your end.

Thanks
