Hi
I used to have Voange.ca as my VOIP provider and I used to used it in UAE - Dubai with my du.ae provider for few month and it was working fine with no issue.

Last week my ISP DU block port 5060 for SIP VOIP connection and since then I can't connect my Vonage to the server in Canada. any work arround to unblock this port or to use a different port?

I have notice that my next door neighboor using same ISP and same vonage.ca and it is working fine at his end so I could tell that the ISP didn't blcok this ports for all customers

Please any help will be great

Thanks

Welcome to VoIP User.

As I recall VoIP is illegal in the UAE, so while you may be able to switch ISP and get it working again, for a bit, you're (a) breaking the law and (b) likely to get shut down again...

Thanks you for your reply

I fully understand that VOIP could be not legal in UAE, but I am wondering why they allow some other users and block others, so since the rules is not been applied to all I should be getting the service and since my ISP will not help I am requesting any work arround ? Any idea

Thank you so much

There are many work around , Have a google you are bound to find one that suits.

As to selectively blocking you, That would be normal, your account it can be assumed has been flagged up, and as such blocked.

I dont think you have a leg to stand on, Both in the UAE and according to Vonage.
