I am in need of a SIP Server.

Although my Linux skills are moderate, I have a severe lack of time concerning learning howto setup a SIP Server by code itself.

Does AsteriskNOW and Trixbox with allow for the provisioning of a SIP Server?

Many thanks

Welcome to Voipuser forums.

Perhaps the place to start is to say what you want to use the server for. Do you really need a dedicated server or will an ATA do the job?

Thanks for your reply.

We are having some NTS and geo numbers assigned to our company.

These numbers will be terminated to a SIP address.

We wish to host the SIP Server ourselves for the inbound calls and, in addition, have a customised SIP address (eg 100 [!at] example.com (replace the [!at] with a @)) for each user.

Around 5 users to start with.

Many thanks

Hi

So you want an IPPBX then. Yes either of the systems you mention will do what you want.

There are also a number of hardware solutions available now that run a version of Asterisk or something similar that might be of interest to you and possibly less trouble to get running.
