Fax to Email service
Written by tjardick on May 24, 2005 - 05:27 PM
Hello Everyone,
After some beta testing time we have decided to make the Fax to Email service I built available to all users.
If you have a look at the "My Numbers" control panel you will now see a fax option for your number destinations.
Please note that delivery of Faxes is not instant, so it might take a couple of minutes before you receive the fax in your mailbox. Faxes are sent to the email address you currently have registered with us. You can change that in your "My Web Account" settings (top left menu).
Do let us know if you run into any dificulties or have any comments on the service.
Dean & Tj

Hi Hilario
You have to 'request a new number' and then indicate that it is to be a fax number - then put in the email address you want the faxes sent to. Just try it

every time I have tried to get another number , the system says it can not do it. I have the default and a second one.

I have set up an incoming fax number and sent a test fax and I got an email with attachment.
Can you please advise on the best viewer to use?
The default viewer for my Thunderbird email produces a low resolution and chunky image

I have used the standard image viewer within windows without further problems.
I guess any proper TIFF viewer should do the trick just fine.

Tj

I've obtained US DID number. Can I use it to receive faxes?
Thanks!

Hi idmitriy,
You'd need to ask the people that supplied it. It's not one of ours, so will not work with our services.

Can I convert my primary PSTN number to fax and then use call forwarding from another VoIP to get the fax? If so what's my internet address for fax calls?
Thanks.

No, it's a PSTN to email service only (that's how it's funded). There is no "internet address".
You need to contact your DID provider to organise fax services on that number.

Hi, I am very new to all this, and I set up an 0871 dedicated fax number so I could receive a fax I was waiting for from my bank overseas. They say they have faxed the document through to +44 871 xxxxxxxx but there's nothing in my inbox. They are in NZ: could there be a problem with their telco provider not recognising my number? I haven't been able to test the number any other way yet unfortunately. Thanks!
