Mobile VoIP Comes to Blackberry

Written by dean on May 04, 2009 - 11:03 AM

European Mobile VoIP Award Winner Vopium seems to have been busy with engineering lately. Having just announced its iPhone VoIP application they're now also the first provider to get on the new Blackberry Application Store (called "App World").

Quote:
The launch of Vopium on BlackBerry App World ™ comes hot on the heels of the company’s iPhone application. Vopium is now compatible with more than 500 devices across all operating systems including Windows Mobile, Symbian and Java.

That puts them on more handsets that their competition and with a signup offering 30 minutes of calls and 30 SMS text messages for free, seems like it's worth a go.

Other than the sign-up process which seems a bit convoluted to me (it's possible to do this much better, so give them a little time and we'll see what they do with V2) but the rest of the user-experience has been well thought out and, most importantly, the top-up mechanism is integral and can be done from the handset itself.
