trixbox ce 2.6.2.2 callback using callerid does not work

In the freepbx forums (and I assume this is the case with trixbox fork of freepbx also) it states that the callback module is unable to callback when you leave the call back number blank if the caller id does not conform to the dial plan. For example, if the caller id is a 10 digit number and the dial plan assumes a 9 prefix followed by the 10 digit number then the previously mentioned configuration will not work. And it does not for trixbox 2.6.2.2 CE indeed. Does anyone know how to make this work? Any parameter for the callback module?
