I have figured out what was wrong. Since you point out that I am the second person who has asked this question, I thought I would post the solution.
I misunderstood the screen. When it read "loudspeaker" I thought it meant that the loudspeaker was on. In fact, it was offering the option to turn the loudspeaker on. Similarly, when "normal" appeared on the screen, it meant that the loudspeaker was on, not that the normal speaker was on.
In short, I had it backwards. I am not quite sure if this was my fault or should be attributed to bad software design. At any rate, now that I understand how it works, all is fine. |
