Voxeo Seek New Developers With Tropo

Written by martyndavies on Mar 04, 2009 - 04:19 PM

Tropo is the latest service available from VoiceXML service providers Voxeo. The idea behind Tropo is to allow voice applications to be scripted using a high-level scripting system, allowing users to avoid coding VoiceXML scripts directly. Voxeo aim to close the gap between web developers and the world of voice, so that voice can be simply added to existing web apps. Applications can be written in JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, Groovy, and Python, and are hosted by Voxeo using a Pay-As-You-Go model.

Voxeo welcomes all new developers to Tropo, and is even offering $100 for each new sample application accepted into their library. Existing Tropo samples can be seen at Github. Developer accounts are free, with production deployments charged at $3 per month for each DDI and $0.03 per minute charged for connection to the hosted application.
