I really need help with my asteriks / x-lite setup

I am going crazy. I have spent the past 3 weeks trying to get asterisk working. I have an OPENVOX 4 port card with 2 FXO modules, I have a dual core pc and I have asteriskNOW installed. When I do a test call into my system I can see the call registered in the "active channels" menu. The system answers the phone and tells the caller that my extension is on the phone and the it sends me to voicemail. I have xlite installed on my windowsxp system. I cannot get past the domain registration part with xlite. help!
