Dear learned Trixbox folks,
I have trixbox inside our f/w with the free 056xx number from VoIPtalk working perfectly inbound and outbound.

I've now added a ten-number DID block so each person here has their own DDI number 028 3799 870x. I have configured each of these numbers identically to the 056xx number in the voiptalk.org web interface. However, when I call one of them I simply get a busy/engaged signal.

More worryingly, when I log onto the trixbox and:
Code:
#core set debug 100000
#sip set debug

and then call one of my UK DDI numbers from the PSTN, I get nothing in terms of debug/noise on the console. When I dial my 056xx number I get the full debug information you would expect.

My question is twofold (as I haven't been able to speak to anyone in voiptalk support) ---
1) does anyone have the necessary mojo to tell if the problem is at my end (i.e. on my trixbox) or at voiptalk?
2) if it is at my end, can anyone enlighten me as to possible remedies?

Michael.

Hi, how have you configured the numbers at the VoipTalk end?

As they offer it, IAX is rather easier to set up

You will then need to set up inbound trunk rules for each number, (you can actually create 2 inbound contexts for each Trixbox trunk) e.g.
Trunk 01789123456

Outbound Context= 01789123456
context=from-trunk
type=user
username=01789123456

USER Context 01789123457
context=from-trunk
type=user
username=01789123457

Hi
it eventually got sorted out yesterday evening -- they weren't routing them to me as they had some problem with their upstream provider. I already have it all working with SIP but I see they do offer IAX trunking instead -- would you recommend using IAX instead?

Personally I recommend - If it works, don't fix. Wink

But in general I find that IAX is easier to setup and slightly more reliable with VoipTalk
