Greetings Houngbo and welcome to the forum
Do you need a provider for calls into Africa or for calls from Africa to other destinations? If you search for VOIP using a local search engine you should come up with some contacts. Failing that most of the UK or US commercial providers will give you a reasonable rate for calls back into Africa.
If you let us know what kind of service you need I am sure someone will have some more ideas. |

For eg. what's the best rate to Zaire mobile (Congo Democratic Republic), country code: +243
I have tried www.dialpad.com , www.mywebcalls.com
You may have some more to advise? |

Both of the companies you mention offer 'Reseller' programmes, this means that users of their service are not given the best call rates as a proportion of the margin has to be shared with an agent.
This is unlikely to be a good choice of service provider and you should look elsewhere. |

You are right - The American providers, in general seem to have negotiated better rates than the Europeans for most African countries. Probably comes back to them being involved with the installation of the infrastructure.
Babble www.babble.net seem to offer a reasonably comparative rate if you prefer to use a UK provider. (20p)
As always - if ADSL is available at your destination then set up a Voipuser account there and call in from the UK PSTN at minimum rate or free from one Voipuser account to another. |

Hi guys..
Here's a good deal for u...
First: Register on www.sipphone.com
2) Go to www.cheapphonecards.com and choose a destination( each destination has a toll free number)...
The fact is that from cheapphonecards you can call a toll free number from your sip account opened with sipphone( call is free..;no need to top up your sipphone account)
Exemple: I m calling cameroon for 9eurocents... |

There is a general issue with Calling Cards, parameters are often adjusted by the issuer to ensure they make money ('minutes' with 50-55 seconds in them to force a second minute payment etc), There is normally no way of finding the issuer apart from a premium phone line and all in all it is a fairly unsatisfactory solution for the end user. However I am glad it appears to work for you.
It would surprise me however if you were not able to find a commercial VOIP service provider able to match the call rates. |

Try Gossiptel - they currently permit calls to 0844 - please note that I had to edit your post to remove repeated reference to the calling card provider.
This is in essence a 'non commercial' forum. Posts with repeated or blatent promotion will be edited in the spirit of fairness to all. |
