I rent a room, and use my landlord's internet connection. When I moved in, I noticed that the connection was slow, I couldn't open ports, and downloading torrents and gaming were totally out of the question. Through doing a trace route, I noticed another device on the network, 192.168.15.1. It turns out that it is a VOIP gateway. I accessed the HTTP menus, and turned on bridge mode, which seemed to do nothing. Then I turned off DHCP and NAT as well. I then figured out how to reset the router remotely, and that seemed to do the trick. I think turning off DHCP or NAT is the mistake I made, because after about a day, the connection started dropping over and over and over.

However, I can no longer access 192.168.15.1 to change the settings back. Through nagging my landlord, I was able to go and hit the 'reset' button on the back of the VOIP gateway, but that didn't do anything. I was hoping it would reset the factory defaults. And since I can't access the HTTP menu, there doesn't seem to be any way to restore all the settings.

Any ideas on how to access the gateway? Telnet or something? Doing a netstat or trace route don't show a 192.168.15.1 either.

Just to clarify, the network is like this:
Modem > VOIP gateway > Router > Computers

I would be so thankful for some help!

You will have to do that using a direct cable connection to the router in question. If you were accessing before over wifi then you wont be able to get in via that means any more as it defaults to 'off'. Check also the dafault IP address of the router in the manual, (you can find it online somewhere) if its a DLink then you are right in using 192.168.15.1

If all else fails then go for a hard reset, info here ...
