Hi

Welcome to voipuser. I see that youare in the US so it more than likely be a T1 you would need.

I assume this is going to be a voice T1 and not a Data one ? or is it a Data one ?

If its a Data pipe then go to an ISP if its a voice on go to a Telco

Ian,

Yes i am in US but i am trying to do something in europe and they have E1 only...... that's why i asked about E1 and differences.

I have a question i would like to ask if you can answer me i really appreciate...... can I use trixbox for Digital receptionist IVR ONLY.... this is the setup on my country people use.....
They have lots of pots line and lots of hired secretary’s that pick up the phones all day... so I am trying to set trixbox only for IVR and then slowly upgrade them to the whole VoIP.... What is the best way any idea I would appreciate.
Create some nice voice menus to direct people by using option 1 thorugh whatever they need.
In order to do this do I need E1 from Telco, I can’t do this using POTS line right correct me if I am wrong.

Please explain what is the best aproach to this.

Hi.

Sorry you never mentioned you were going to use this in europe and I had to assume that as you are in the US it was for the US.

How many callers are you expecting ? an e1 has between 8 and 30 channels. where is the server to be located ? in a customers site or a data center ? if its a datacenter then use IP trunks instead.

You can use Trix for IVRS ive not looked recently bu I believe the menus are there to do it.

Sorry but i thought just mentioning that i want E1 would do it. Well i will be setting up small offices let's say from 5 people to 50 roughly we know that all of them will not be on a phone 100% of the time so i think 1 E1 will do it.

But this is what i want to do, Since in my country there is no Voice Menus that's my main concern i want to do only voice menus and than slowly introduce them to voip phones, voice mail, call forwarding waiting, call park end everything else trixbox offers anyway Example:

Company X: has 10 people = 10 phones and 1 receptionist with 2 Pots Lines.... this is the funny part....

if receptionist receives a call she canot transer Yeah i know....... she takes messages on paper if it's urgents she will tell them to call back on another number and funny funny funny.

What i want to introduce Trixbox make those 2 main numbers to go straight to IVR and then IVR will handle the calls and take them to the right person.....
just tell the ivr transfer the incoming option to to the number internal number xxxx

they can keep their original pots lines but on the same time put and internal line or transer those pots to DID through the E1 with 30 channels more then enough....

give receptionis a brake from the phone so she can work on something else, utlize the IVR........ introduce the voice mail. and make everyone happy. What you think........ is this a good bussines..........

never used trixbox though i am learning and just trying to see what equipment i need, is it possible to do this and how the best way and easy way.

Ian i really thank you for taking time and trying to help, i realy appreciate everything you say. Thank you a trilion
