| Dav3yDark0 : | I'm using a GE DECT 6.0 Model #: 28310EE1-A phone that also does Skype and Voip. The phone is a Skype client too, no computer needed. I have my a USB VOIP adapter plugged into it via phone cable and it connects to Skype through an Ethernet cable. So my VOIP adaptor and Skype ring the same phone, I have different ring tones set for both. But there is no SIP client for the phone or ring scheduling built into it's firmware, so it is limited to Skype and an analog phone only.

You will need to run the usual sip client on the computer with the USB adapter. The USB adapter FXO may not be compatible with the GE FXO. |
Yes, that is how it works and the VoIP service/adapter I am using works just fine with this phone. I have Skype and my VoIP both ringing the same phone, have different ring tones programmed for each service. A SIP service with an ATA would also work with this phone on the analog side.
PS. I wasn't promoting a particular brand, just stating what service/analog adapter I was using with this phone. Sorry if you saw it as such. Another post I made last night where I did not recommend the, now unnamed, VoIP service I use for someone wanting a business phone should have set the record straight on this. Again sorry you took it the wrong way. Btw, isn't Skype a brand too that also sells phone service? But it's OK to mention it? That does confuse me a little bit.
