Voxeo Widens Scope and Geographical Reach with VoiceObjects

US-based IVR Platform company Voxeo have announced today that they have acquired VoiceObjects, also in the VoiceXML server and development tools business.
VoiceObjects hails from Germany, so Voxeo get a useful footprint in the European market, as well as access to some interesting new tools. VoiceObjects have a developer toolkit based on the open-source Eclipse environment, making it a nice tool for bespoke enterprise phone application development. The VoiceObjects products also have an easier ability to connect voice apps to existing business systems. As well as voice, the VoiceObjects platform also embraces video, and USSD, which is the technology used in mobile phone networks for implementing menuing systems used for example for prepay customers.
