hi,

i am making a program for developing a soft-phone, for that i wanted to ask some basic functionality of the sip stack layers, can anyone tell me, about the sip layers....

and also how to relate sip layer with OSI layer.....

SIP is just a text-based communications protocol like HTTP - OSI layer 5.

I wouldn't suggest writing a SIP stack - there's plenty of open-source ones out there.
