Fring and
Trutap are both said to have started significant layoffs; both companies are active in the mobile messaging market, with Fring also doing some SIP/VoIP over 3G data and WiFi. Both companies have been surviving largely on venture capital, which is now drying up.

EQO are rumoured to be on the ropes, having already shed significant jobs a couple of months ago. Looking at the blog and support forum at Eqo, it's easy to conclude that there's not a lot going on there any more.
