VoIP user has not worked in a week. I keep getting registration failures and registration time outs. It seems the entire service is down at this time for all users.

Just a few questions:

1. Is voipuser out of business?

2. Will this service ever be restored?

3. If it will be restored when can we expect it to be back up and running?

4. Does anyone have any suggestions as to an alternative service that we can use?

If the service will not be restored will someone please tell us. There's obviously no redundancy in the system but what exactly is going on?

Thanks in advance for any feedback. And good luck with the server problem.

Voipuser is just fine. I assume you mean the Voip testing service of Voipuser and there are problems at present. It is expected that the problems will soon be solved but you must remember that it is run by a few people who volunteer their time so unfortunately we all have to be patient.
There are many commercial services that you can use at a cost and there are a number that allow you to test and use some services free. The ones that I use are Voxalot and Mysipswitch but there are others.

For UK, I use SIPGate.
For US, I use Gizmo5 (previously called SIPPhone or GizmoProject). Of particular interesting on Gizmo5 are as follows:
  1. Free outbound to some US PSTN/cellphone numbers through its VoIP BackDoor Dialing.
  2. Couple with free services from GrandCentral (GC), you can have a free US DID # and forward all incoming calls to your Gizmo5 account while being able to use the click2call features on your GC account to place free outgoing calls to US PSTN/Cell phone numbers. At the moment, GC doesn't accept any new members.
