Jajah & Intel team up on 'Remote Wake' technology. Intel have introduced new chip technology to allow a sleeping PC to wake instantly in order to answer a VoIP call. This allows PCs to remain in energy saving state most of the time while still acting as a phone. Jajah received some investment capital last year from Intel Capital.

GIPS to release VoiceEngine for Apple iPhone also. Global IP Solutions (GIPS), who make VoIP engine and codec software have said that they will also target the iPhone, allowing VoIP applications to reside on the iPhone. The iPhone does not currently have any VoIP module, and perhaps many of Apple's current telco partners would not welcome the arrival of VoIP. GIPS already have versions of the VoiceEngine Mobile that run on Symbian and Windows Mobile platforms.
