Welcome to Voipuser forums Vanlee.
Voipuser has been developing, but not released, autoconfiguring clients to make configuration easy for new users. All the clients that I know that are available require some configuration, at least a username and password to be input. Perhaps the simplest (and the reason for its success) is Skype as to start it only usually requires the input of username and password for basic operation. Unfortunately Skype software is closed and not very configurable. Most SIP providers offer customized clients that are relatively easy to use but success often depends on the configuration of the internet connection and the ISP used.
One option is to set up the client remotely using VNC but there can be problems there. So, I suggest you choose a simple client like Zoiper (SIP) or start off with Skype. In my experience you need to get some quick success to encourage new users otherwise voip will get rejected.
There are other options that can be used, such as sending a preconfigured ATA box, but again, success depends on the network to which it is attached.
Another, is to use a service like Voxalot that can be mostly configured and kept up-to-date on the Web as is probably worth a look. Full membership of Voxalot allows you to use a callback so that inexpensive calls can be made via the web. |
