Hi
I have a PAP2-NA Linksys unlocked adapter running the latest firmware, and its been giving me some troubles...
First, some background:
I'm using it with a 3G UMTS internet card on my laptop, sharing internet to the lan card, where the PAP2 is connected. Also tried connected directly to a Speedtouch 716 ADSL router. The problem remains the same.
I'm using right now a couple of Gizmo project accounts, one in each of the PAP2 two lines. I also tried a couple of Voicheap accounts, but couldn't make the PAP2 call alphanumeric SIP accounts, so tried Gizmo instead, which gives me SIP numbers along with the alphanumeric accounts.
I'm using two standard Siemens phones, one is an Siemens Euroset 2005, and the other, is an Euroset 802 (old one I know). Right now, model 2005 is connected to Line 1, model 802 is connected to Line 2.
Problem: Both phones call out, neither of them accepts incoming calls.
I tried to call them from softphones, like gizmo's own software, and have beem trying to call from one to the other, for testing purposes, and the problem remains:
Basically, they do ring once, and if I picked up the headset of the 2005 model during that first ring, the call is acomplished. After that, the caller receives a busy tone, gets send to voicemail if enabled and bye bye call. When calling the 802 model, the problem is agravated, since the the caller receives the busy tone as soon as it starts to ring, so no use in picking up the headset during that first ring.
Facts: In order for the phones to ring, I had to switch the PAP2's ring waveform to Sinusoid, with 85 on the ring voltage. With a trapezoid wave form, they don't even ring.
On the model 802, it has 3 ring volumes. The phone rings on the louder 2 selections, 2 and 3. On 1, It doesn't even ring. In spite of this, in a standard landline, the phone works fine in either volume selection.
Now, I should say I'm less than a rookie on the voip world. I've been banging my head around since last thursday to configure this the way I need, which ultimately will serve as a Skype gateway, with either SiSky Personal Edition or SippySkype. But I can't get to there before I have at least one SIP account fully working with one phone (probably the newer 2005 model) on the PAP2, making and receiving calls from another SIP account, which will be used by the gateway software.
Can anybody help me setting up correctly the PAP2. I do believe I'm missing something out in the configuration... I just don't know where to begin.
Thnak you
