Hi all,

In the place I work we would like to start developing voip application (using .net) and i've been assigned to do the research.

Im totally new to SIP and VOIP and have no idea where to start. Today we develop TAPI applications such as softphone, dialer, screen pop up etc. for call centers with different types of PBXs. Now we want the same applications to run over pure ip PBXs (an example is LG iPECS). We would like to develop in SIP and I really have no idea where to start (we develop on Visual Studio 2008).

Can someone please advise where to start?
Ive visited sipcenter and other sites providing an overview on SIP, but I need something which is aimed for developers with pure ip pbxs.

Any help is appreciated. Any help.

Thanks in advance,
kruvi

Greetings ruvik and welcome to VoIPUser forum.

Through some Google searches, I am sure you will have no troubles to find lots of GPLed source codes written for SIP UA are based on C/C++/Java languages for portability across many different platforms. So, unless portability across many different platforms is an issue here, I would ONLY consider using the MS .net library to develop my VoIP applications.

Top of the results for the google search "sip .net" is this one:-

http://www.independentsoft.de/sip/

I would also recommend you read the SIP RFC's.
