Good afternoon.

I am tried to set-up X-Lite (on Mac OSX) to work with voipuser.org.

I can dial the echo server (0844 986 ECHO (3246)) and everything works ok, I can hear the lady and what I say gets echo'ed back.

When I try to dial in using my voipuser.org telephone number (0844*) from my home PSTN phone, X-Lite brings up the window saying that there is an incoming telephone call, and when I accept the call, the connection is made, again no problems.

When I say something into my home phone, I can hear it on my computer, but I cannot hear anything that is spoken into the computers microphone back on my home phone.

I have read through the Forum, I am new to SIP but I don't think it is a NAT problem because the Echo server works. Is this a correct assumption?

Thanks in advance

Mark.

Yes.

Commonly one-way audio in this direction is a sound-card issue. Make sure X-Lite has control of the microphone, and that the microphone volume is turned up.

Sounds obvious I know, but you'd be surprised how easy it is to miss...

Thanks for the reply.

I did think it might be the sound card, but the ECHO test works with no problems.

I have updated x-lite to version X-Lite release 1011b stamp 39984, but the PSTN side still does not receive any sound.

I will keep bashing away at it and see if i can see why.

X-lite tried to use the G711-u codex, removed it from the lsit and all works.

There have been changes in the way NAT is handled a VOipuser. Try turning STUN off (it is usually on by default) and see if that helps.
