We have a few users configured on our AsteriskNOW system. However, although the user has a defined email address, and the system config has a valid IP address for mail relay, and a valid email address for Mail From - no voice mails are being emailed. The AsteriskNow machine and our exchange/mail relay are on the same sub-net.

Are the System config/Configure Email just for rpath, or does AsteriskNow use the same setting - basically are there additional email settings for AsteriskNow?

Thanks

As far as I can see AsteriskNow should use your relay.

The most common reason why it won't email at this point is that your mail server is refusing the email because it doesn't recognise the sending source. Also remember *now is using SMTP for mail. Check the Exchange logs.

The /var/log/mail file on the server will also be helpful.

Failing that, on your *Now server have a look in the directory /var/spool/mail and see what size the mailbox files are, in particular the box called asterisk. Those are probably your return receipts. You can read them with the less command, but it is easier to poke around with a utility like webmin.

Looking at the logs - AsteriskNow is certainly sending the messages. I think I have a problem with how networking is configured on the rpath/linux side of things. Which is odd as I can connect via web browser and putty, but I think the problem maybe related to how DNS is configured. We use DHCP which works fine for all other devices and machines.

I'll have a look at it a bit more.
