I am having a problem configuring my 3102 to connect to PSTN.
It works OK to my SIP provider(s) and if I de-power it I can dial out OK to the PSTN line. When I set a simple dial plan (xx.<:@gw0>) it sounds as if its dialling out and I hear ringing tones but its not actually ringing any of the phones I dial.

Things tried so far:
I have flashed the unit to the latest version.
Factory reset.
Changed the settings to those suggested in this link: http://www.aoakley.com/articles/2008-01-08.php
But it still does not work.

On the unit all leds are lit except the marked 'Line'.
When I try to phone out to PSTN the 'Phone' led flashes but the 'Line' led is out.

It sounds similar to an earlier topic. (Linksys Spa3102 Cuts Out On Pstn)

Any ideas anyone?

Is the PSTN line enabled?

Is the Voip to Pstn gateway enabled?

Depending on the settings when dialing out to pstn it will ring the voip line for sometime before it will pick up the PSTN and begin to dial it (if you listen carefully you can hear it happen an the line led will light).

Check those items first.

Yes, the PSTN line is enabled and the Voip to PSTN is 'yes'. If I change it to 'no' I get an unobtainable tone after dialling.

The line led is never lit.

The settings in that area are:
VoIP-To-PSTN Gateway Enable: yes
VoIP Caller Auth Method: none
VoIP PIN Max Retry: 3
One Stage Dialing: yes
Line 1 VoIP Caller DP: none
VoIP Caller Default DP: 1
Line 1 Fallback DP: none

Dial Plans 1 - 8: (xx.)

So is the PSTN line converted to SIP rather than being mechanically switched through with a relay?

Yes. Thats how they do the transfer. This lowers the sound quality somewhat and can introduce echo.

Your settings above should work.

trevorsm :

As follows:

VoIP Answer Delay: 60

Try changing this to 15 (about 4 rings before you will hear it transfer to PSTN or less (depends on whether you want to call in on voip and get a PSTN dialtone if it goes unanswered - you can put the delay to 0).

Everything else looks OK (nearly the same as my settings).

Yes that was the problem. Its now working fine.
I can now start playing with dial plans. Perhaps I should also find out what some of these other settings do as well!

Many thanks for your help.
