Hi all,

I've been given the requirement of linking a pair of intercom systems over a data link. The intercom connects to the outside world via balanced XLR connectors.

The solution has previously been handled via a dedicated unit that connects to a PSTN line, so one easy option would be to deploy some ATA or a channel bank linking into an Asterisk server.

I'd ideally like to try and simplify the solution and I wondered if anyone had come across any solutions that could take an audio feed and encode it to a given codec, then establish a call via SIP.

Cheers in advance for any ideas!

Chris
