I would like to have a incoming service using either an 0845 or 0844 number. The system will need to handle a minimum of 3 calls at a time, i also need to be able to make calls to landline and mobile numbers. I would prefer the system to be software orientated or 3 voip phones, on windows XP and/or Vista. I currently have a incoming 8Meg Broadband line.

Is this easily achievable, and will it be expensive.

Thanks

For three phones I would have a look at a hosted PBX, in the UK try Voiptalk/Teleappliant.

If you really want a Windows system try 3CX http://www.3cx.com/

Soft phones start from free, decent hard phones from £80, a server from £400 (don't skimp on RAM) plus a voip gateway if you want to be able to fall back on the PSTN (probably get away with a VoIP ADSL modem for a single analogue line)

If i set up a standard computer network, and install the IP PBX to the server, would i be able to attach usb phone or software phones to the indivudal computers.

Then i would need a service provider to make and recieve calls

is this correct.

so i wouldn't need an external phone line expect for the broadband. If i routed all the calls through a VOIP.

correct. but if you are a business and want 100% reliability i would suggest that you have some sort of fall over to either PSTN(preffered) or cellular phones. i particularly would suggest this if you are using consumer broadband services as opposed a dedicated static link. VOIP is still a new technology and not 100% reliable.
