I have registered an account on voipuser.org and registered a number in "My Numbers" section 08444842xxx. I have terminated it on a sip number xxxxxxxxx [!at] sipnet.ru (replace the [!at] with a @). Later this day I have registered an account in "My SIP Account" section. Now I have a different number 08449330xxx.
I have pap2t with Line1 registered with a Russian Voip Provider (sipnet.ru). I have configured Line2 with a new sip account with voipuser.org. Line2 (voipuser.org) works perfectly (echo test, inbound calls from sip accounts in Russia).
I've tried to test "My Number" that is redirected to my sip account on line1 (xxxxxxxxx@sipnet.ru) dialing from my mobile phone and from POTS (in Russia). But I get "Sorry you have dialed incorrectly".
1. My son is going to visit UK. I want to be sure he can dial "My Number" in UK. Is there a way I can test inbound call from Russia?
2. Can I transfer (redirect) this number to a sip uri of a Russian VOIP provider?
3. May be it is better to have a number with 0870 or 0871 prefix?

Welcome to VoIP User.

If you can call the ECHO test server and everything is working then you should be fine.

I recommend your son use the 08449330xxx number as it'll be a little cheaper for him from the UK.

Not all countries support UK non-geo numbers which is why you're not able to call it from Russia.

It used to be possible to call 0844 numbers from Skype but it was quite expensive (would be 0044844..... if it still works).

Thanks for the reply. I need to ommit the leading zero when dialing 0844 numbers. I tried to dial +44-844... from Russia and it worked.
I have just received a mail with
Quote:
Your PSTN outbound service access at VoIP User has now been activated....

But in "My SIP Account" it shown as "PSTN Status : Not active". May be it because "You do not currently have a SIP device logged into our server."?

I don't think that could be the reason. Wait a little longer and try again.
I gather that everything works with incoming including the transfer that you wanted (it should).

Thanks again!
Му PSTN Status is active now. I hope PSTN numbers will work as I want from UK. From Russia I can call only 0844933... number. I've tried 2 different Mobile operators here. The 0844484... number cannot be called from both Russian cellular companies I have tried. 0844933... worked from one of the companies.
